No, I suspect the complete silence was due to the list itself not
functioning.  I sent a response last week which didn't come back to me -
indeed, this is the first thing I've seen since then.  It may well have
gone somewhere, but I didn't see it and resolved to find out more when I
got a chance (which is not right now).  I'll repost if need be.

However, some of the sentiments you've expressed are right - we have to
Do Something (which means the 24 of us who are still current members).
