Who are the big Unix vendors?
- SUN, HP, IBM, Apple. Invite them to talk.
[IBM's OzLabs/OSDC is here in CBR. Lots and lots of good people]
  - Tridge may give an 'anything but Samba' talk :-)

Softway/Aurema turned 21 this year. Chris Maltby is still there. Greg
Rose (Qualcomm) might speak if asked.
John O'Brien, Whitesmiths, was with Chris & Greg in ??? then the fated
"Neology".
Bill Plauger might come out to talk on Ansi "C".

Piers Lauder is one of the most under-exposed giants of the Unix/Systems
Software field.

Rob Pike spends a bunch of time in Oz with Google.

Ian Johnstone moved back to Oz around 2001/2 and is living in WA. Geraldton?
He was part of the 'fab 4' who ported Unix v6 to the UNSW 'batch input
station', and went onto to run & support the first 'business' Unix
system outside AT&T [AGSM @ UNSW].

'kre' is in Thailand now. Probably won't talk, but.... would have very
interesting things to say.
but you'd expect others who were around him to talk.

Simon Hacket of Internode springs to mind as having interesting things
to say.
Peter Elford of CISCO started & ran AARNET.
There's someone else @ CISCO I've heard talk about hardware they built..
Apologies for forgetting :-(

Ken Thompson may like another sponsored trip out. Been a while since '88...

Hope this is helpful.
