I have been wondering about the conference - I have clearance from
by employer to spend the funds and time, but have been unable to register.

I even know other people who say they are going.

I sent mail to "auug at auug.org.au" and got a reply from Adrian Close
saying it _was_ happening, so I'm hanging in...

It would be a pity if it got cancelled now, but on the other hand,
with such short notice, how many people will actualy be _able_ to
make it?

Perhaps we should all make one last effort, even if only for a valedictory conference.
