Stephen nearly has it right - the Board always aims to have the date and
theme set for the next year's conference before the current one, but we
rarely achieve this.
I can tell you that we have made a booking for the Duxton Hotel in
Melbourne for October 2006 (I don't have the exact dates with me, but it
is the 2nd or 3rd week). The Duxton has been a wonderful conference
venue for the 2002 and 2004 conferences, and we are confident the high
standard will be maintained in 2006.
We are currently looking for a programme chair - we have a volunteer in
mind but need to confirm, so we are looking for more volunteers. If you
are interested, then please send a note to board at auug.org.au.
We hope to have a call for papers published before the end of the year
(ideally before the end of the month).
In the meantime, there is a fair bit happening, we have barely recovered
from the 2005 conference, and we still need to recruit some admin
support - so please bear with us. AUUG 2006 announcements will be made
as soon as we are able!
Cheers,
DavidP
