[Cook] Newbie build question

Hello All,

I've hit what should be a pretty simple problem building 2.27 that I can
only assume is something going horribly wrong at my end.

Firstly, I should add that I am doing this on a newly installed Ubuntu
Fiesty machine.

I download and untar the 2.27 tarball. Configure runs ok issuing a
couple of warnings about datarootdir being ignored (I'll get onto those
next). Make however, complains that I have a missing separator at line 200.

Now, I'm no expert with Make (I view it as a necessary evil) but
according to all reports, this indicates that the line should begin with
a tab character but instead has a space. Replacing the first space
character with a space does indeed move the problem to the next line.

Obviously I can fix the file without a lot of trouble. However, I've
never had this problem building cook before. My concern is "is this a
sign of a deeper problem"?

Has anyone else come across this or have any suggestions?

Cheers,

Scott
