Conference Background
=====================

The 2005 Australian System Administration Conference is the premier
Systems Administration event in the Asia-Pacific region. The
conference offers a premium educational forum for System Administrators
of all platforms and levels of experience, and an excellent opportunity
to meet, network and learn from acknowledged experts in the field.

Conference Dates & Location
===========================

The 2005 Australian System Administration Conference will consist of
5 days of Tutorials and Technical Program sessions.

The conference will be held from Monday 5th September to Friday 9th
September, 2005. The Technical Program will be held on Thursday 8th
September to Friday 9th September 2005 inclusive.

Tutorials will be run on the first three days (Monday to Wednesday)
covering both technical and non-technical aspects of System
Administration.

The final two days (Thursday and Friday) will be dedicated to the
Technical Program covering both technical and non-technical aspects
of System Administration.

The conference will be held in Perth, the capital city of the state
of Western Australia.

The venue will be the Rendezvous Observation City Hotel, a beachfront
location in Scarborough Beach, approximately 15 minutes drive from the
centre of the city.

The hotel's website is found at:

Call for Technical Papers
=========================

The 2005 Australian System Administration Conference is hereby calling
for papers on topics relevant to the profession of System Administration.

Papers should have a technical or managerial System Administration
orientation, and should not contain advertising.

Submitting a Technical Paper for Consideration
==============================================

Technical Papers will be of 30 minute duration. 5-10 minutes should
be reserved for questions from the audience.

If you wish to present a paper, send a 500 word abstract to the
address below by the due date.

Authors will be notified of whether their submission has been accepted
or rejected.

A draft paper is also submitted to allow the conference committee to
provide feedback and assistance. The Program Committee will assist
authors in organising their work to help ensure the quality of papers
and preparedness of authors.

All authors giving Technical Papers will be expected to provide a final
"camera ready" paper for inclusion in the conference proceedings.

This final copy must be submitted in an approved format (see "Author
Guidelines").

Authors should note that formal papers are required - submissions
consisting solely of presentation slides are insufficient.

Important note: Authors whose submissions are accepted are expected
to follow the published deadlines, and to present the result of their
work at the Conference. To assist in this, authors may be assigned
"mentors".
