I think this is an excellent idea.
It uses our technology to stay alive and allows the 'brand' to survive
and gives us pretty much identical situation to current.

By reducing to a mainly online entity, the only on-going jobs are:
  - list maint & spam 
  - DNS maint.
  - rehosting

The CBR LUG (CLUG) operates this way - there is no formal entity, no
bank account only a list.
Meetings are at the Uni - hosted by staff members.

I'm aware there are real issues of insurance and fiducary duties if
running events (esp. if payment required) - the answer is for AUUG
itself is *not* run anything:
 - piggy back off other org/conferences - LA, SAGE-AU or ITSMF 
 - lend AUUG branding to other 'events'

For the average mug punter^h^h^h^hmember, there is no difference - just
no m'ship fee.
