This is patently not true.

My personal and professional interest is in standards based computing.

Now get this:

Open Source != Standards Based Computing

In fact, I will go further:

Open Source < Standards Based Computing

To say "we have become the Linux community" leaves me (and many
AUUG members) disenfranchised. The "Linux community" explicitly rejects
many things that I need in a community, in particular software and/or
platforms that are not open source.
