Hi everybody,
I was responsible of all the cross talk. I realised my mistake of posting in
all 3 forums. In future I'll make sure that I post only to the most relevant
forum or individually to each forum.
Here's what I have got till now,
Gregory Bond, Bob Purdon and Michael Paddon suggested to look into
"Dummynet" which is the part of ipfw firewall code in FreeBSD. I couldn't
find the way to corrupt packets in this but definately this is worth a try.
Troy Dack pointed the use of iptable based firewall on Linux distributions
running kerenl 2.4+. The HOWTO is at
(http://www.netfilter.org/documentation/HOWTO//netfilter-extensions-HOWTO.ht
ml). Again using iptables I can just queue the packets and hence delay them.
Daniel Stone referred to IIRC option in Linux. But I couldn't find the
option (IIRC) in 2.4.19 (Latest Stable) and 2.5.47 (Lastest Deve - Not
patched).
Philip Gunter suggested to have a look at NistNET. Website:
http://w3.antd.nist.gov/tools/nistnet/index.html
Michelle Vennix suggested Agilent, network analysers. But as this is for
personal use, I cannot pay for it.
Liam Widdowson suggested to use Omnet++. This is wonderful discrete event
simulation tool. Website: http://www.hit.bme.hu/phd/vargaa/omnetpp.htm
I would like to thank everybody who has replied.
Cheers,
Anshul Gupta
