[Cook] host-binding problems

I forgot to say what I am really trying to accomplish.

There are some recipes that I want to run on the local machine, under
"normal" circumstances (i.e., I do not want to ssh into the local host
to run that recipe).  There are other recipes that I want to go to
multiple machines.  I have tried to just use the host-binding for a
specific recipe, but it does not go to other machines unless I specify
parallel_hosts to something.  However, if parallel_hosts is set, then my
"default" rules then try to use the other hosts as well.

Is there some place that has a good example of parallel, distributed
cookbook?
